Located in the north of the country, Chobe is Botswana's third largest park, has its main geographical features of lush flood plains and dense woodland of mahogany, teak and other hardwoods now largely reduced by heavy elephant pressure. The Chobe River which flows along the Northeast border of the park, is a major watering spot, especially in the dry season (May through October) for large breeding herds of elephants, as well as families of giraffe, sable and cape buffalo. The flood plains are the only place in Botswana where the puku antelope can be seen. Birding is also excellent here. Large numbers of carmine bee eaters are spotted in season. When in flood various species of stork, duck and other waterfowl flock to the area. This is likely Chobe's most visited section, in large part because of its proximity to the Victoria Falls. The town of Kasane, situated just downstream, is the most important town of the region and serves as the northern entrance to the park.

The tour usually starts with a 07:30hrs hotel pickup. Then followed by a 45mins to 1hr transfer to the Okavango Delta NG32 Concession. You will be allocated a guide/poler who will take you on an unforgettable journey through the channels of the Okavango. Born and raised in the Okavango Delta, our polers and guides show you their home which they are very passionate and knowledgeable about. We support the local community in the Okavango Delta. All our polers come from the mokoro village Community Trust and are allocated on a daily rotation basis by the Trust. They will take you on a journey through the delta channels. Enjoy the peace of the delta in a Mokoro, stop for a picnic lunch meal on one of the islands before your guide takes you on an nature walk where we hope to see more animals. Feel the peace and tranquility of the Okavango surrounded by hippos and serenaded by the abundant bird life, before heading back to Maun.

Depending on the water level, you will board the boat near Audi Camp at 7am and head along the Boro channel on a motor boat to Boro Mokoro Station where you will be met by your Poler for the day. The mokoro is ideally suited as transport in the delta as you will move quietly through shallow waters.

The Game Drive into Chobe National Park will start at 6:30am. Your driver will be a professional guide with extensive knowledge on the park and its inhabitants. The park is especially known for its massive elephant population, huge array of bird species and big cats such as lion and leopard. You will discover some of the parks distinct ecosystems with dense woodland, extensive savannahs and rolling grasslands while travelling along the Caprivi flood plains. The mokoro or makoro - (mekoro, plural), is a traditional canoe-like vessel commonly used in the Okavango Delta as a popular mode of transport, and now utilized for game viewing safaris. The makoro has become the iconic symbol of the Delta and is a popular way for visitors to explore the Okavango while on safari. Originally, the only form of transport for fishing or transporting people and goods around the channels, these canoe-like vessels, approximately 20 feet or 6 meters in length, used to be crafted from tree trunks, which were painstakingly hollowed out using hand tools.
