Setouchi Sea Fishing Experience from Ieshima Island with BBQ
Ieshima island is on the Seto Inland Sea. Main access is a ferry from Himeji. It takes for about 50 minutes. The part of island is designated as Seto-Naikai (Seto Inland Sea) National Park. Historically, many travelers come to this island. The name “Ieshima”, translated literally as “home island,” derives from a story of Emperor Jinmu, dating back to the 6th century BCE, who was traveling east and got caught in a storm. Taking shelter on the island, he famously remarked, “It is so quiet here it feels like a home.”
